It's okay to build your pyramid with Legos.

Sugar Cube Pyramid. Great idea! Looks like fun. Hands-on learning.

Too complicated. Not enough time. (Three to six hours for the glue to dry? No way.) Skipping to next page of SOTW Activity Book.

Whoa! Stop turning the page.

"OR you can use 55 square Lego blocks."

Hmm.

No sugar cubes. (Who keeps sugar cubes in the pantry, anyway?)

No glue.

No mess.

10 minutes later, Thing1 is thrilled with his pyramid, and we have enough time left to make Khufu.

The homeschooler's compromise: Where ideal and real meet.

We built Lego pyramids too! Actually, we also did sugar cube pyramids, but we used hot glue. I'm all about the instant gratification. Of course, it was a project they definitely needed my help with though.

Ha! Maybe it's not exactly what you dreamed of doing for a project, but hey! it works! And I'm sure your son did love it =) Thanks for sharing this down to earth solution with us at Trivium Tuesdays!
